The Ground
Truth Method
Let’s face it: You’ve been navigating by the satellite version of yourself.
The output on autopilot. The diagnosis. The performance. All of it drawn from a distance — an interpretation of what’s happening in your body, not the thing itself.
For the quietly disconnectedSmart. Capable. Strangely disoriented.
The survival style that got you here was built for a structure that no longer exists.
If something in you just said oh — that’s me, keep going.↓

What the performance is
You’ve optimized everything. The protocols, the therapy, the performance metrics. Something is still running that you cannot think your way out of.
You don't need more modalities, supplements or another cold plunge.
You need to stop the performance. Pattern interrupting is how you will make this shift. The looping cycle of overextension, withdrawal, contraction back to performance is what I can help you interrupt.
She helped me to identify and clear old conditioning patterns and mental roadblocks.
The information and the motivation I've received from her were invaluable. Diane came to me with her wonderful and meaningful coaching program at the right time when I needed it the most. I was going through a process of personal transformation and professional transition from a corporate job to launching my own entrepreneurship idea to the world.
Every session, every tier
What you leave with
A working vocabulary
A map of the brain-body conversation, where it broke down and what the body has been sending. Name the pattern and you stop being at its mercy.
An actual interruption
Not just awareness of the pattern, but a break in it, at the level where it fires. Something different in your body, not just your head.
A new baseline
An arrival point your nervous system can return to. The brain updates when it receives accurate input. That update is the work.
You can get a whole room to tap out without raising a hand.
I fight healing like the plague and protect my rage and stress like a lion. “Oh, that ball of tar? It's all the things I tolerate about the world that make me go on a rampage.” She got rid of my sludge.

How the method works
Your brain has a theory about what’s wrong. Your body has been sending the data for years.
Information confirmed by direct observation on site, used to correct what was inferred from a distance. Borrowed from cartography, military intelligence and machine learning. Your body is that ground.
Most of us navigate by the satellite version of ourselves: the story we tell, the schedule we keep, the answer we give when someone asks how we're doing. The diagnosis. The performance. All of it drawn from a distance — an interpretation of what's happening in your body, not the thing itself.
Everything else is a map. Your body is the territory.
The Ground Truth Method is the practice of coming back down to the soil — taking the reading firsthand, from the felt, present-tense evidence of the body.
Therapy works with the story. Coaching works with the mind. Yoga works with the body, in isolation. These approaches are real — but each alone leaves a gap, because each works with an interpretation of what the body is carrying.
Ground Truth works with the source.
The technique is not the work. The Ground Truth Method uses the body to reveal what the mind has protected, the mind to complete what the body has been holding, and the nervous system as the bridge between them. Most approaches run one direction. This one moves in all three at once:
Unfinished business
Completing the survival response the body started and never finished.
Structural body
Where the breath stops, the jaw guards, the shoulders compensate — read as evidence, not faults.
Metacognitive rewiring
You watch yourself think — not the thoughts, the thinking — and the watching changes what's possible.
A world-ranked martial artist, a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, and thirty years of clinical foundation — in one room.
Not therapy. Not bodywork. Not coaching.
You experience the method through The Body Brief — one two-hour session, the first reading of what your nervous system is actually running.

PEMS Hygiene
You brush your teeth every day without deciding to. Daily, consistent, ritualistic — not because you love the ritual, but because you understand what happens without it.
Nobody ever gave you that for the rest of you.
What builds up without it has a name. In Gut Punch, Diane calls it somatic sludge — the residue of survival responses your body started and never got to finish. JP’s “ball of tar.” It doesn’t drain on its own.
The four channels through which body and brain communicate.
PEMS — Physical, Emotional, Mental, Spiritual — is the framework at the centre of the method. When one is congested, the others compensate. Addressed together, the pattern has nowhere left to hide.
The PEMS Hygiene Workbook takes you through it on your own: an honest baseline, a map of your core needs, one anchor practice per system, your own written code — and a 28-day protocol to build it into your nervous system.
Not a cure. Not a one-and-done. A practice — every day, a little at a time, until it's just what you do.

I have spent 30 years working at the intersection of the body and the mind — I am the author of Gut Punch. None of that is why my clients come back.
They come back because I see what nobody else saw.

Where the body is right now
You are still showing up. Still delivering. Still the person everyone counts on.
Your nervous system learned, early and well, how to keep you functional under pressure. It built a survival pattern. When that pattern stopped feeling safe to live in, you retreated to your mind. The body kept sending signals. You kept moving faster than they could land. The gap has been widening ever since.
The braced jaw
Effort that never clocks out — the last muscle to believe the deadline has passed.
The shallow breath
Air taken from the top of the chest — a body still deciding whether it's safe to exhale.
The far-off gaze
Attention that has left the room. Useful once; expensive as a default setting.
The heavy chest
Weight with no clear source. Grief and exhaustion arrive wearing the same coat.
The offer
The Body Brief
The method is the practice. The Body Brief is your first reading.
A private, one-on-one session. In person in Vancouver, BC — or remote by video. Two hours. One practitioner who has spent thirty years learning to read what the body is actually saying.
Not a consultation. Not a protocol. Not a program. A reading — of what your nervous system is running, followed by targeted somatic work at the exact level where the pattern lives.
The toolkit is deep — Somatic Experiencing, shiatsu, craniosacral work, breathwork, yoga therapy — but the toolkit is not the method. Your body presents; the session answers.
You come in carrying something. You leave carrying something different.
Pain-free most days at 82. A stunt career’s injuries finally unwinding. Heart-bypass prep with a steady nervous system. Different bodies — same work.
The territory
Inside a session
Ninety minutes, sometimes more. No file, no theory — a reading of what walks in.
You arrive
No intake form. No sixty questions about your childhood. Diane starts with what your body is already saying — posture, breath, pace — before you've said a word.
The Checkin
You talk, she listens. What she's following is the body's real-time account: where you hold your breath, what happens in your jaw and shoulders, the places that brace when certain things are named.
The Movement
Guided neural fascial flow for where your body is right now. Diane works where the patterns show up, not in the performance of movement.
The Pause
You get to experience liminal space. Put down what you've been carrying and rest. Supported, intentional, guided pause.
The Release
Not dramatically — more like a door that has been stuck for years quietly opening. Or a garden hose that has been unkinked and the water flows freely. A shift occurs.
You leave carrying something different
Language for what your body was holding, a framework to keep working with it, and something genuinely changed. Not finished — but started, at the right level, for the first time.
01—Read
I read the body structurally — joint stability, fascial tension, breath pattern — as diagnostic intelligence. The body files an accurate report. Most people have never had it read.
02—Interrupt
I interrupt the pattern at its source — not through insight or analysis, but through the body itself. Where the loop actually lives.
03—Rewire
I use metacognition and movement simultaneously — so the rewire happens at every level at once. Thought, nervous system, structure. Not sequentially. Together.

Diane Seamark
Diane reads a body the way a master reads a room.
She holds the rank of Kogyoku Kaiden Shihan — 5th Degree Black Belt in KoKoDo JuJutsu. One of two women in the world. The first outside Japan. Thirty years of learning to read what a body does under pressure. She is the author of Gut Punch: Is It Your Trauma or Intuition?
She also holds four herniated discs, endometriosis, and a nervous system that has run every pattern on this page. She didn’t learn this work from a textbook — she needed it first. She has lived in the suck.
In their words
Not a better map. The ground itself.
Across surgery prep, chronic pain, performance, and the mat — the same work.
The ability to take some control of your body and mind cannot be underestimated.
She is a life coach… an experienced yoga therapist… and a shiatsu masseur. A former nurse who made my journey through heart-bypass surgery an easier experience — able to address both the physical and mental aspects of a medical condition.
Both intuitive and soul nourishing.
After 20+ years as a film stunt performer, my body had endured a lot of injuries. Diane's yoga therapy has been profoundly effective for my mobility issues, given me relief from chronic pain, and greatly improved my daily existence.
fit
Who this is for
And, just as honestly, who it isn't.
This is for you if —
You're a creative running on empty
The work is still there — the aliveness inside it isn't.
You're quietly disconnected
Smart, capable, and strangely disoriented. The survival style that got you here was built for a structure that no longer exists.
You're the one who holds it all
While your body has been escalating, silently, for years.
You never quite feel like enough
Despite the evidence. The hum doesn't live in your achievements — it lives in your nervous system.
This isn't for you if —
You want a quick fix
A decades-long survival pattern doesn't resolve in a single afternoon and anyone who says otherwise is selling something.
You want to be handed a protocol
Assessed from the outside, no participation. This work requires you in it — honest, present, willing to hear what the body says.
You're in acute crisis
This method is not clinical or psychiatric care. If that's what you need, Diane will tell you directly and point you toward it.
If you've done the work, you understand the patterns, and your body keeps doing the thing anyway — this is for you.
The path
Four ways in
Every rung stands alone. Each one deepens the last. Start where your body says start.
PEMS Hygiene Workbook
The daily practice, self-guided. A 28-day protocol.

Before you ask
Is this therapy?
No. Diane is not a clinical therapist, and The Body Brief is not psychotherapy. It doesn't fit the bodywork box either — the method works on three fronts: the nervous system, the structural body, and the way you watch your own thinking. Therapy works with the story. This works with the pattern underneath it.
Is this yoga?
No. Yoga therapy is one tool in the session — this is not a yoga class.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you're carrying. The Body Brief is one session — an assessment and an interruption. Some people return regularly; some come back months later. Diane will tell you clearly what she observes.
I've tried everything. Why would this be different?
Because knowing better and doing better live at different addresses. Executive function runs in the prefrontal cortex; the survival pattern lives in the nervous system. Understanding a pattern doesn't interrupt it. This works at the address where it actually lives.
What if I'm not in crisis — just stuck?
That's exactly who this is for. Most of Diane's clients are high-functioning, quietly disconnected people who've outrun the signals their nervous system has been sending for years. The earlier you work with it, the less it costs you.
